The Race for More; a poem about possessions

In the race for more, we strive and yearn,
Seeking wealth and power, our desires burn.
Always chasing after what we think we lack,
In the pursuit of more, we often lose track.

Yet in the midst of this endless chase,
God whispers softly, seeking our embrace.
He calls us to be more than what we own,
To find true richness in the seeds we’ve sown.

For it’s not in possessions or earthly gain,
That our true worth and purpose we attain.
God asks us to be more, to do more, to give,
To lead lives of love, so others may live.

Like Jesus, who walked this earth with grace,
Showing compassion to every face.
He taught us to love, forgive, and serve,
To find our fulfillment in what we can preserve.

So let us strive not for more in excess,
But for more kindness, more love, more goodness.
Let our actions reflect the heart of Christ,
Bringing hope and healing to all in our midst.

For in being more like Him, we find our truest worth,
Living out His teachings here on earth.
In every moment, in every choice we make,
May we strive to be more, for His name’s sake.
