A letter to my husband during Pastor’s Spouse Appreciation Month

As we celebrate Pastor’s Spouse Appreciation Month, I want to take a moment to express my gratitude for my husband. While I may be the one who stands in the pulpit every week, I could not do what I do without his love, support, and partnership.

Being a pastor’s husband is not an easy role to play. It requires a great deal of patience, understanding, and flexibility. My husband has all of those qualities in abundance, and more.

He is my rock, my sounding board, and my confidant. He listens to my sermons and offers honest feedback. He prays for me and with me. He encourages me when I’m feeling discouraged and celebrates with me when I’m feeling joyful.

But he does more than just support me in my ministry. He has his own gifts and passions that he brings to the table. He serves in the church in his own way, using his talents to further the Kingdom of God.

Whether it’s singing in the choir, serving on a committee, or just lending a listening ear to someone in need, my husband is always there, ready to do what he can to help.

And he does it all with such grace and humility. He never seeks the spotlight or recognition for his efforts, but works quietly behind the scenes to make a difference in the lives of those around him.

So, to my dear husband: thank you. Thank you for being my partner in ministry, my best friend, and the love of my life. You are a gift from God, and I am so grateful for all that you do.

And to all of the other pastor’s husbands out there: thank you for your own unique contributions to the work of the Kingdom. Your love and support are invaluable, and we could not do what we do without you.

May we all continue to serve God together, in whatever roles He has called us to, with love and gratitude in our hearts.
