A Palm Sunday Spoken Word

Today we celebrate Palm Sunday, The day when Jesus made his triumphant way, Into Jerusalem, on a donkey, with crowds in his wake, Hailed as a king, with palms and cloaks laid in his wake.

But there was more to this day than just pomp and circumstance, For Jesus was making a statement, with every move and every glance. He was proclaiming that his kingdom was not of this world, That his message of love and justice was what truly unfurled.

He knew that his time on earth was limited, that his days were few, And so he made sure to make every moment count, to make his message true. He spoke of love for all, of compassion, of justice and of grace, And he showed us that these were not just words, but a way to embrace.

So today we celebrate Palm Sunday, And we remember the message that Jesus conveyed. We remember that his kingdom is not about power or wealth, But about love, and compassion, and justice for all, not just for self.

And so we take up our palms, and we wave them high, As a symbol of our commitment to the message of the Most High. We follow in Jesus’ footsteps, and we strive to live out his ways, To love and serve others, to bring hope and light to all our days.

For in doing so, we honor Jesus’ legacy, and we fulfill his call, To be the hands and feet of God, to love and serve, to give our all. So let us celebrate Palm Sunday, with joy and gratitude in our hearts, And let us remember the message of love that Jesus imparted, from the start.
