Welcome, seekers of truth, to this sacred space, Where hearts and minds converge, with divine grace, For we gather here, in the United Church of Christ, To explore the theme that guides our sight.
“Making all things new,” our anthem rings, A call to action that each soul sings, In this hallowed Synod, we unite as one, To seek justice, love mercy, till our work is done.
In our sacred scriptures, ancient and wise, Stories of transformation, they emphasize, From Moses leading a people to freedom’s shore, To Jesus, our Savior, who life’s burdens bore.
We look to the past, where brave souls stood, Fighting oppression, seeking what’s good, From civil rights warriors to prophets bold, Their voices of justice, they firmly told.
But “making all things new” is not just a dream, It’s a call to action, a vibrant stream, It’s bridging the gaps of inequality, Extending compassion and hospitality.
We stand on the shoulders of those who came before, Their struggles and triumphs, their spirits we adore, Yet we recognize the work is far from complete, There’s still much to do, battles left to meet.
In this Synod, let us join hands, Embracing diversity, where unity expands, For we believe that love has no bounds, And acceptance is the ground on which healing is found.
Let us make all things new in our sacred spaces, Affirming the worth of all, in all their graces, Inclusion and justice, our guiding light, Breaking down barriers, dispelling the night.
Together, we’ll dismantle systems of oppression, Working for peace, in each intercession, We’ll advocate for those who’ve been pushed aside, Lifting their voices, with love as our guide.
We’ll reimagine worship, in innovative ways, Engaging hearts and minds, in communal praise, We’ll nurture the earth, our fragile abode, Preserving creation, where life’s wonders unfold.
For “making all things new” is a call to embrace, A future of hope, where love finds its place, In the United Church of Christ, we will persist, Transforming the world, with each faithful twist.
So let us leave this Synod, inspired and strong, Knowing that together, we truly belong, With hearts aflame, and spirits renewed, We’ll make all things new, in gratitude.
Inspirational !
