Psalm 139:1-14 – A Living Prose

Oh, Eternal Light, you have searched me, and you know me completely. You know when I sit and when I rise; you discern my thoughts from afar. You are intimately acquainted with all my ways, and there is no place where your presence cannot reach me. Before a word is on my tongue, you, O Divine One, already know it entirely.

Your divine touch enfolds me, behind and before, and your love surrounds me like the vast expanse of the heavens. You carefully lay your hand upon me, guiding me gently through the labyrinth of life. Such knowledge is too wonderful for me to grasp, too profound for my mortal understanding.

Where can I flee from your Spirit? If I ascend to the highest mountaintop or make my bed in the darkest abyss, there you are, holding me close. If I take flight on the wings of the morning or dwell in the farthest reaches of the sea, even there your hand leads me, and your right hand upholds me.

In the depths of my being, you skillfully wove me together, forming me in my mother’s womb. I am fiercely and wonderfully made, a masterpiece of your creation. Every intricacy, every delicate detail, carefully designed by your divine wisdom. My soul knows it well, for it sings praises to you, the Creator of life.

In the secret chambers of my heart, you have seen my unformed substance, and your eyes beheld all my days before even one of them came to be. Each moment I breathe is a testament to your grace, your love, and your purpose for my existence.

How precious are your thoughts toward me, O Infinite One! They outnumber the grains of sand, reaching far beyond the vastness of the cosmos. Your presence continually surrounds me, embracing me in the light of your truth.

Search me, O Eternal One, and know my heart; test me and know my anxious thoughts. Reveal to me any hurtful way within me, lead me in the way everlasting. For in you, I find comfort and rest, knowing that you are with me from the dawning of time until the end of eternity. Amen.
