Called to Pastor; a spoken word

I stand before you today, with a heart full of grace, Called to pastor a church, in this very special place. A place where all are welcome, no matter who they may be, A place where love is shared, and hope is set free.

It’s a calling from above, a mission to fulfill, To be a voice of hope, and to lead with skill. To walk with the broken, and to help them to heal, To lift up the weary, and to show them what’s real.

To be a shepherd of souls, and a guide in the way, To lead with compassion, and to love without delay. To welcome all, with a smile and a hug, And to show them the love, that comes from above.

So let us walk, in the footsteps of Christ, To serve with love, and to always be nice. To pastor a church, with a heart full of love, And to lead with compassion, like a gift from above.

For this is our calling, and our mission to fulfill, To be the hands and feet, of Christ by our skill. To be a voice of hope, and a light in the night, And to pastor an inclusive church, with all our might.

  1. You have a wonderful way with words. This poem makes me feel proud to be a member of Trinity, & to have you as our spiritual leader. I know that I will be one of the sheep who will be led by you as the shepherd. Thank you for all you do.
